    We collect from your site in Auckland, Wellington or anywhere in New Zealand, using tracked logistics.

  3. Erase or shred

    Drives are erased with YouWipe software or physically shredded. Reusable equipment is assessed for reuse or resale.

  4. Documentation

    You receive chain-of-custody records from pickup to completion, and certificates of destruction are available.

EXTECH is a YouWipe partner. YouWipe's erasure software is certified by NATO and to Common Criteria EAL+3, and supports NIST SP 800-88, DoD 5220.22-M and NATO Assured erasure methods. Drives that shouldn't be reused are shredded to 20mm fragments, with custody tracked from pickup to destruction.

IT asset disposition is the secure, documented process of retiring end-of-life IT equipment. It covers collection, data erasure or destruction, reuse or resale of equipment that still has value, and responsible recycling of the rest. EXTECH manages the whole process for New Zealand businesses, with custody tracked from pickup through to completion.

We accept laptops, desktops, servers, networking gear, monitors, storage devices, UPS systems, phones, cables, PCB boards and more. Both working and non-working equipment is welcome. If you're unsure whether something qualifies, ask us.

Yes. Every storage device we handle is either erased with YouWipe software or physically shredded before any equipment is reused or recycled. The method and volume affect pricing, so send us your asset list and we'll quote for your job.

Erase working equipment you plan to reuse or resell, because the hardware keeps its value. Shred media that has failed, can't be reliably erased, or falls under a policy that requires physical destruction. Our shredding covers hard drives, SSDs and smartphones, reducing them to 20mm fragments. Not sure which applies? We'll recommend a method for each device type.

We erase data with YouWipe software, which is certified by NATO and to Common Criteria EAL+3, and supports NIST SP 800-88, DoD 5220.22-M and NATO Assured erasure methods. EXTECH is a YouWipe partner. The NATO and Common Criteria certifications apply to the YouWipe software.

Yes. We collect from business sites nationwide, with operations in Auckland (Onehunga) and Wellington (Hutt Valley). Outside those regions, submit your collection request and we'll arrange logistics accordingly. Book a collection.

Yes, we provide e-waste bins to offices and business sites. These can be serviced regularly as part of our business recycling solutions.

Yes. We provide secure dismantling and removal of servers, racks and enterprise network systems, with data destruction for the storage inside them. Learn more about IT decommissioning.

Items are assessed for reuse, resale or dismantling once their storage has been erased or destroyed. Usable equipment is repurposed where possible, and the rest is recycled responsibly.

Cost depends on the volume, the types of equipment, and whether you need erasure, shredding or both. Send us your asset list or rough quantities and we'll quote for your job.

Yes. Under the Privacy Act 2020, New Zealand organisations must notify the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals when a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm. Handing retired devices to a third party doesn't move that responsibility away from your organisation, which is why documented destruction matters. This is general information, not legal advice.
