General use

By accessing or using any part of the EXTECH website or services, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not accept all of the terms, then you may not access the website or use any services.

Service overview

EXTECH specialises in the secure removal, technical dismantling and resource recovery of electronic assets. Our core mission is to divert e-waste from New Zealand landfills, through processing at our Onehunga facility. Services may vary based on location, availability and individual agreements.

Data liability and responsibility

Protecting sensitive information is a shared responsibility. Please note the following boundaries:

• Backup responsibilityThe Client is solely responsible for backing up all data prior to collection.
• Certified destructionOnly items specifically booked for 'Certified Data Destruction' will receive a formal Certificate of Destruction (CoD).
• Secure containersAny bins or containers provided by EXTECH must be locked and secured before pickup.
• LiabilityEXTECH is not liable for data remaining on devices not explicitly declared for secure sanitization.

Ownership and title transfer

Clear boundaries regarding asset control ensure efficient processing:

• Transfer of titleOwnership transfers to EXTECH once the collection manifest is signed and the vehicle departs.
• FinalityOnce collected, assets cannot be returned. We reserve the right to refurbish, resell, or recycle at our discretion.

Logistics and health and safety

Our hub is located at 38 H Angle Street, Onehunga, Auckland 1061. To protect our staff and your property:

• AccessEquipment must be ready at ground level unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Safe environmentClients must provide a safe work environment under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
• Hazardous materialsWe do not accept chemicals or bio-waste. Contaminated loads may incur fees.
• ReschedulingEXTECH reserves the right to reschedule due to safety, weather, or access constraints.

Fees and cancellations

Technical recycling involves high operational costs and varies by volume and material type:

• Dry run feesCancellations within 24 hours may incur a 50% transport surcharge.
• AccuracyOur team recovers only items declared via the digital manifest.
• Specialised chargesCharges for certified data destruction, container rental, and large-volume logistics may apply.
• CurrencyAll transactions are in NZD.

Limitations of liability and amendments

• Consequential lossEXTECH will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses resulting from the use or inability to use our services, unless otherwise required by law.
• AmendmentsEXTECH reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
